Which HR course is better - An Online or Offline one?

Human Resource Management (HRM) plays a leading role in any industry. With many businesses realising the importance of their workforce, HR professionals are more in demand. If you’re planning to become one, HR Courses are recommended.

HR Courses from any top institutes are vital to enter the HR field. Numerous modules are considered under these courses, like HR-Operations, Payroll Management, Statutory Compliance, Performance Management, Training and Development, and Admin.

So if you are seeking to get educated in this line, pursue PGDM in HR.  However this course is available in both, online or offline modules. So, let’s find out which one is better.

Which PGDM in HR is better: Online or Offline?

If you have an immediate need to pursue a PGDM in HR course, you may be considering doing it online due to the current pandemic situation. But before you do that, let us compare the cons and pros of both online and offline PGDM HR courses.

The first factor that separates the two forms is, of course, that one is conducted at a particular location while the other can be accessed from anywhere. So, naturally, for any offline HR courses, candidates need to travel to the training institute or college. On the other hand, an online HR course can be done from the comfort of your home, via a computer, laptop and even phone. Online candidates also need an internet connection.

Pros and cons of an online HR course

With the online course, one can save on travelling, relocating, new accommodation and living costs at the university’s location. Plus online PGDM HR courses are usually less expensive, and are supported by online resources.

Mentoring is carried out via digital means and communication is supported by email, whatsapp, college chat groups or phone.

Some problems one may encounter with an online program are an unstable internet connection, frequent power cuts and network issues. Another aspect is that not everyone is used to online training as it is a recent trend. It involves a lot of focus, self discipline and self motivation. Some students may find this discipline to be a problem.

Offline HR course

In offline HR courses, students and candidates share closer bonds through classroom training. It’s also easier for the teacher to supervise the class. There are no disruptions or lags in connection and all tutoring is clear and precise. Students can get queries answered right then and there.

However, offline HR courses can be expensive and in today’s times, not safe.

If you are planning to do a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, check both offline and online options. If there are good HR colleges located near you, you may attend one of them. But if you find that the top colleges are far from you, choose an online course based on your abilities to secure a good internet connection and maintain self discipline.
